Responding to CoronaVirus as an Independent Retailer
MtnStuff recognizes that it’s not “business as usual” in your shop right now, so we’ve compiled a list of things you can do to work with changes in the marketplace.
Dan Covers the Colorado Trail
Before making the move to the Front Range from Southwest Colorado in September I was interested in covering as much ground as possible through the San Juan’s via the Colorado Trail throughout the summer.
Rich’s BC Hut Trip
Mid-December on a random Tuesday evening my phone buzzed with a text message. “Do you have a ski trip booked? My buddy has spots open at the Boulder Hut in BC” It took me about half a second to reply I was certainly interested, and about 24 hours to obtain time off from work and home responsibilities. I’m In. Within a few days, I had paid my deposit, and committed. Shortly, I would be on my way to the Boulder Hut outside of Kimberly, BC for seven days of backcountry skiing in the Southern Canadian Rockies and the Purcell Mountain Range.
Farewell 2018! MtnStuff adventure wrap up
Waking up January 1, 2019 likely started with a headache and a title wave of goals and ideas for 2019. Let’s kick off the year feeling grateful for our accomplishments; not flustered by the hundreds of goals we’ll set for the year to come. Here are a few things the MtnStuff crew is proud to have done in 2018:
MtnStuffer Adventures: Hut Trip with San Juan Mountain Guides
MtnStuff went on an epic backcountry ski trip with San Juan Mountain Guides out of Ouray, CO the first week of February. We were spoiled rotten staying at their VIP “hut” on Red Mountain Pass and having all our overnight gear brought up to the hut for us. All we needed to carry was our day pack on the skin up.
MtnStuffer Adventures: Tyler Goes Backpacking in the Wind River Range
I [MtnStuff’s Tyler Noonan] was invited to help at an event at the Great Outdoor Shop in Pinedale, WY the weekend before the Outdoor Retailer show. The event was to end on Sunday and I had to be in Salt Lake City on Tuesday. Rather than drive home and drive back, I thought I should take advantage of being in such a beautiful place and go backpacking. After much hunting for good trailheads and routes I settled on a loop from Elkhart Park, clockwise to Trapper Lake, Summit Lake and out the Titcomb Basin back to Elkhart Park.
